LTL Freight Shipping Policy

What is LTL Freight?

Our larger products (Stratford & Overland Mailboxes, Fire Pits and Planters) are shipped via LTL Freight. This means that we wrap the product in protective materials and strap it to a wood pallet. “LTL” means “less than truckload", which refers to a truckload shipping method used for transporting a shipment larger than a parcel, but light or small enough that it doesn’t require a full truckload. These shipments are transported on a different fleet of carriers than the standard parcel carriers (such as UPS or FedEx). Please review the below information before purchasing.

Delivery Methods:

We offer three different freight delivery methods. Please review each method and choose which one applies to your delivery location at checkout:

  1. Commercial - Loading Dock or Forklift Required: This method requires the delivery address to be a commercial building and for there to be either a loading dock or forklift on-site for offloading.
  2. Commercial - w/ Lift Gate Service: This method requires the delivery address to be a commercial building, but having a loading dock or forklift on-site for offloading is not required. The shipment will be delivered by a truck with a lift gate for offloading.
  3. Residential Delivery w/ Lift Gate Service: If you are having the product delivered to your home, you must choose this method. If your delivery address is a residential address but you choose one of the other two methods at the time of purchase, we will send you an invoice for the additional residential shipping fee.

Delivery Location: For residential deliveries, the driver will be equipped with a truck that has a lift gate for offloading, and will deliver the shipment curbside or at the end of your driveway. Since these freight trucks are quite large, they will not go down driveways or skinny roads where they cannot turn around. If you think your delivery location may be an issue, please contact us directly at support@boldmfg.com.

Transit Time: After your product is picked up from our shop by the freight carrier, it will head towards a freight terminal closest to your delivery address. Once it arrives at the freight terminal, the carrier will reach out to you directly to schedule a delivery window. Depending on your location, transit time to your local terminal from our shop in Austin, TX is around 3-5 business days. If the terminal is backed up, especially during peak season, delivery to your residence or commercial address may be delayed.

Tracking: Once your product is picked up from our shop by the freight carrier, you will be sent an email with the tracking information. Our sales team will send a follow-up email that includes the tracking information and photos of the shipment.

Delivery Appointment: For residential deliveries, once the shipment arrives at your local terminal, the carrier will give you a call to set up a delivery window. Most freight carriers deliver Monday-Friday and offer a 4-6 hour delivery window. Delays in delivery is possible and delivery time is not guaranteed.

Proof of Delivery (POD): PLEASE INSPECT YOUR PRODUCT BEFORE SIGNING THE POD. Damages to the pallet does not mean your product is damaged. If you see any damages to your product, please notate it on the POD before signing and refuse the delivery. In the rare case that damage has occurred during transit, failure to notate damages on the POD at the time of delivery will prohibit Bold MFG & Supply from being able to correct the issue.  With the proper documentation, Bold MFG will be happy to assist you in any damage claim.

Failed Delivery & Storage Fees: If the carrier cannot get a hold of you and is not able to schedule a delivery appointment, the freight terminal will start incurring storage fees. These fees are the responsibility of the customer and not Bold MFG & Supply. Most carriers will attempt to contact you for 2-3 days before storage fees are applied.

Our team is here to help you have the smoothest freight delivery experience possible. Please reach out to us at support@boldmfg.com if you have any questions, concerns, or issues before or during the delivery process.
