Stratford Parcel Mailbox
The Stratford has 2 compartments; the upper mailbox is for basic letters, envelopes, and magazines and the lower is for packages. If you choose the locking option, keys will be included for the lock on the back of the box for you to access your deliveries and an additional matching key set for the mailbox compartment on the front. If you choose non-locking, keys will be included for only the lower back compartment where you retrieve your packages.
We build and deliver this mailbox in clean raw dark gray hot rolled steel. Much like the grain in wood, this dark steel finish comes with a variety of heat marks from the raw steel cooling in the steel mill. Most people let this mailbox develop a handsome RUST patina over time. The final photo shows it at the tail end of this process when it has cured to a brown/orange patina.
LOCKING: The Stratford has an option for a locking mailbox front door behind the main front door with a slot at the top for depositing mail. We also offer a non-locking option for this upper mail compartment. The lower compartment in the back where you retrieve packages will include a locking door & keys.
OPTIONS: Available in Steel + Brazilian Ipe or All-Steel (no wood). If you would like us to leave the Brazilian Ipe off so you can install your own wood, please contact us for more details and a custom quote.
FLAG: We now offer two choices of flags when purchasing your mailbox, a steel flag, or a red powder-coated flag.
INSTALL: The Stratford mailbox will weigh between 245 - 375 lbs depending on your options and it will need to be anchored to concrete or a stone pad. Holes are provided in the bottom plate of the mailbox for anchoring.
SHIPPING: This product ships via LTL Freight. At checkout, you will be able to select from commercial, residential, and lift-gate service options for delivery. PLEASE BE AWARE that the freight carrier only offers curbside delivery and will not drive their truck onto your driveway or move the shipment to its desired location. Please provide a phone number for delivery coordination.
WEATHERING: As with all of our raw steel products, the hot rolled steel will eventually develop a brown/orange rust patina over time with natural weathering. The rate at which this rusting happens varies with exposure to the elements and climate. If you'd like more information on this process, please visit the Patina and Paint section on our website or message us at sales@boldmfg.com!
